  1.  The 2023 Global Tobacco and Nicotine Forum (GTNF) opened on September 19. The theme discussed on the first day of the forum was “Consumer First”. Guests at the meeting elaborated on multiple focus issues such as the current status of U.S. FDA enforcement, the future of safe nicotine products in the U.S., whether it will be easy for consumers to obtain products after market compliance, and how the vape industry will help consumers.


  1. In 2022, the 27 EU countries importedvapesof approximately 3.3 billion euros, with a total import weight of 56,000 tons, 59% of which come from China.


  1. ISPIRE’s fiscal 2023 revenue increased by 31.2% to US$115.6 million. Among them, CBD productsrevenue increased by 100.4%, reaching US$40 million; vapesrevenue increased by 10.9%, reaching US$75.6 million.


  1. In July 2023, China’s vapeexports to the United Arab Emirates increased by 39% year-on-year to 110 million yuan; the export volume increased by 93% to 373,167 kilograms.


  1. The U.S. FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) is recruiting representatives from the tobacco industry to join the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee. The deadline is October 11.


  1. KT&G won the Korea Knowledge Award and was the only private company to win the award. It is reportedthat the number of KT&G’s domestic and overseas intellectual property applications has increased from 27 in 2017 to 1,065 in 2022, a growth rate of more than 3,800%. The total number of registered trademarks reached 7,132.
