- In March 2024, China’s vapeexports to Spain were approximately US$5.85 million, a month-on-month increase of 41.21%, and a year-on-year decrease of 28.29%; the export volume was approximately 102 tons, a month-on-month increase of 18.55%, and a year-on-year decrease of 30.55%.
- Colombia’s new legislation prohibits the sale of tobacco to minors. This law is called the Anti-Tobacco Law 2.0 to protect public health and adapt to current tobacco consumption.
- The British Ministry of Health plans to strictly regulate vapeadvertising and prohibit vapebrands from sponsoring activities on sweatshirts. The Health Minister promised to take formal measures to restrict vape advertising and sponsorship.
- Customs at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport seized a large number of vapesand cigarettes brought into the country by passengers in violation of regulations, totaling 28,800 IQOS cartridges. The customs reminded passengers to abide by relevant regulations on imported items to avoid illegal activities.
- The Polish Ministry of Health proposed an amendment to ban the sale of flavored heated tobacco products and require manufacturers to provide relevant product information. After the provisions of the bill come into effect, the Polish government is expected to receive approximately PLN 68.3 million (USD 17.4 million) in annual budget revenue.
- A ruling by the Supreme Court of Panama (CSJ) declared unconstitutional Law No. 315 of June 30, 2022, which prohibits the use, import and marketing of vapes, tobacco vaporizers and other similar devices with or without nicotine.
- The usage rate of vapesin Malaysia has increased from 1.1% in 2011 to 8.6% in 2023, an increase of more than 600% in 12 years. The main consumer group is 15 to 24 years old.
